September 23 Update Graphic

September 23, 2020

Good Afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff,

A couple of important updates in this week’s communication.

As we enter our 7th full week of the 20-21 school year, I would like to once again thank our incredible staff, students, and families for all that you are doing to make this school year possible. Even though we are getting into some new routines, I recognize that this is not easy work for anyone.

Linked to this email is a copy of our 20-21 school calendar. Please note that our Fall Intersession Break is October 5 - 16. Students will return on Monday, October 19. During our Fall Intersession Break, we will be providing breakfast and lunch distribution to all Warren students out of Moorhead Community Resource Center and Warren Central High School. More details will be provided next week.

Another important date for PreK-8 families is Thursday, October 22nd. This is the PreK-8  parent teacher conference day. PreK-8 students will not attend school on this day. 9-12 students will attend as they normally would.  Conferences will be held via phone or virtually with the child’s 1st quarter teacher.

Families who submitted their change request from VIRTUAL to IN-PERSON or IN-PERSON to VIRTUAL will be receiving additional information on their transition process. For students transitioning to VIRTUAL, learning materials including textbooks, iPads or Chromebooks with chargers will be sent home with your child on Friday, October 2nd. For those students who are transitioning to IN-PERSON, you will need to bring your learning materials including textbooks, iPads or Chromebooks with chargers when you return to school on October 19th.

Thank you for your continued support and investment in our Warren students and schools and may the rest of your week be the best of your week.

Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
