October 28 Update Graphic

October 28, 2020

Good Afternoon Warren Students, Families and Staff,

A few important updates for this week:

Parents and Caregivers, as a valued partner, we would like your input on how Warren is doing with health and safety measures, communication, and family needs as we continue to navigate these challenging  times. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey via the link or QR code below attached to this email. The survey window is open until Monday,  November 2nd.

This past spring, prior to COVID-19,  we asked our board to approve the use of eLearning days, both planned and in response to inclement weather. Our first planned eLearning Day will be on Tuesday, November 3rd due to some of our schools being utilized as voting locations. Your student will work on teacher designed extended learning activities at home on that day.  This planned day allows us to ensure that we maintain consistency with student learning.

To ensure that  instructional questions and needs are met on this day, our teachers will be available to provide eLearning support to their students and families during the school day. For Kindergarten through 8th grade/ Renaissance students,  teachers will be available from 9:00AM-12PM and for 9th and 12th graders 11:30AM-2:30PM.  For more detailed information, specific to your school and grade level, please visit your  homeschool's weekly newsletter.

I am excited to share that our Moorhead Community Resource Center will be opening on Friday, October 30th. As part of our grand opening activities, there will be a Trunk or Treat from 3:30 - 5:30 for kids and families. Sweet treats and boxed food packages will be shared. For additional information, please check out our flier under our News feed on our website.

Due to low participation with our Friday food outreach, we will no longer be offering a Friday distribution. Our outreach will continue to be on Tuesdays from 8:00-9:30 and from 4:30-6:00.

Please remember that the 9-12 request window is open until November 8th for those families who wish to switch their current model. There is no action needed if you are remaining in your current model. Please visit the high school website or access their most recent newsletter for the link

Thank you for your continued investment in our students and schools. May the rest of your week be the best of your week!

Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of School for MSD Warren Township
