January 27 Update Graphic

January 27, 2021

Good afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff,

We have a few important reminders:

The learning model request window for students in 6th - 8th grade is open now and will be closed this Friday at 4PM.  The request form can be found on each intermediate middle school school’s website. This will be the last opportunity for a change in the model for this school year.

We are still planning on our 6th - 12th grade students returning to the HYBRID IN-PERSON and VIRTUAL model on Wednesday, February 17th. A reminder that Monday, February 15th is Presidents' Day and Tuesday, February 16th is a district wide eLearning day for staff professional development. Upon return, our 6th -12th grade students will follow the Black and Gold Schedule. The schedule can be found on page 19 of our S.A.F.E Reopening Plan which is linked here and our website.

Please remember to communicate with your child’s school if your son or daughter is experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or has been tested for COVID-19.  In both of these situations, we ask that you keep your child at home until the symptoms have gone away or you have received the results of the COVID test.

As we prepare for potential inclement weather this winter, an inclement weather delay and closing FAQ has been created to address this during the IN-PERSON, VIRTUAL, and HYBRID window. The FAQ can be found here and on our website by clicking District Information under the Explore Tab.

Last week, we opened our Equity and Inclusion Survey for K-12 staff, families, and our high school students. The survey will be open for one more week and will close February 3rd. The survey is linked here and can be found in our NEWS section on our website and app. You can also access the survey by visiting  bit.ly/WarrenEquitySurvey. This information is a part of our district wide equity review and will provide important information to improve our processes, policies, and practices.

Lastly, I would like to thank our families and Warren staff for all that you are doing to support our students and I ask that everyone continue to be safe!

Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
